UNFINISHED CHARACTERSnone ACTIVE CHARACTERSHelene DECEASEDnone ABOUT MEHey! The name's Sam, but I go by Color, Colors, Kyuu, etc. Really, give me a nickname, and I'll respond. Heh, I even responded to 'butler' during band before. That made my friends laugh.
I love all things Japanese, and I normally can be found reading manga and fanfiction, playing video games, and watching anime. I am a yaoi fangirl, and I am not afraid to obsess over it in public. I love all animals, though I absolutely hate bugs. I'm fine with butterflies and pill bugs, but that is it.

NAME: Helene NICKNAME(s): Hel, Miss Saluki (only her masters called her that) AGE: Three years, three seasons GENDER: Female SPECIES: Domesticated Dog BREED: Saluki COLOR: White HEIGHT: Twenty-five inches at the withers WEIGHT: Forty-two pounds DEFORMITIES: None that she knows of.
PERSONALITY: A rather independent dog, Helene isn't one for large crowds. The most friendly beings she willingly goes near is only at small number of fifteen. If the crowds become any larger, she will shrink back into a corner and try to keep herself from running out of the area like a kid who just lost his or her parents. The only time she willingly faces an even larger crowd is when she is hunting (due to some prey animals living in herds) or going off to war.
Her loyalty to those she trusts runs deeper than the core of Earth. She will put her life on the line and have reckless choices if it means protecting those she holds close to her heart. Helene will not stop unless she knows they are safe. Her loyalty for her masters is a great example for this. Although it has been a little over a year, she will not stop searching for her masters. They are the ones who raised her, after all.
Helene is a patient dog, for the most part. She isn't one to snap at someone when they are being annoying, though a few words might just set her off. It is best to stay away from her while she is ticked off, however. You know how girls of any species get when angered...
LIKES:- The great outdoors
- Company, but only in the form of small groups
- Laying around in the sun
- Playing chase
DISLIKES:- Large crowds
- Being forced to do anything she doesn't like or agree with
- Listening to annoying pets for more than an hour
- The cold, due to her short coat
HISTORY: Helene wasn't always living within city limits. No, her mother and father were owned by a Saluki breeder, so she was born in a decently sized section of the breeder's house. She resided there for six weeks, learning the basics from her mother. Only a few days after turning six weeks, a man and woman came to the breeder's house. They were looking for a Saluki puppy, of course, so the breeder took them into the room where she and the rest of the puppies and their mothers were located.
Helene was instantly picked out and bought. The woman's reason was because the white Saluki puppies always turned out gorgeous. Going on looks? Well, she didn't care. The couple brought her back to their house inside city limits. For the first few months, Helene did the normal puppy things: chewed on shoes, played in the trash can, and did everything in her power to get her new masters' attention. However, that was put to and end when it came time to train. She didn't like this one bit, but her masters were persistent.
When she turned one, her owners were impressed on how quickly she caught on to the training. She rarely ever caused chaos in the house anymore, and her temperament was more mature than before. Of course, that could just be from growing up.
Seasons passed by, and Helene had found that her loyalty for her masters grew larger (if possible) as each day ended. What broke her heart was when her masters and all the others just... Left... She was left in their house for a few days, waiting patiently at the front door for them to walk through and make everything well again. However, that never happened. She only moved from that spot when her stomach forced her too. It was a good thing her masters always left the dog food right by the refrigerator.
Helene was soon able to find her way out of her masters' home when the urge to look for them turned out to be just too much. The Saluki didn't expect to find the city deserted by all but the rest of the animals. Where did they go? She didn't have a single clue.
She went to the few meetings the pets have, wishing for a ray of hope. That never happened; however, she didn't turn on her ways like some of the others. No, she was going to wait for her masters until the death. After all, that is why a dog is man's best friend, right?

NAME: Vasu NICKNAME(s): BearBear AGE: Six Years GENDER: Female
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Heterosexual BREEDING STATUS: Fertile
SPECIES: Ursidae BREED: Polar Bear
COLOR: White EYE COLOR: Black PHYSIQUE: Large HEIGHT: 6.2 ft long WEIGHT: 380 lbs
HEALTH: Perfect DEFORMITIES: None
PERSONALITY: Vasu is your average fluffy white bear. She has a rather calm adult. She knows how to keep herself from snapping at others, though she isn't afraid of doing so. Her motto is Truth Alone Triumphs, and she sticks by it. No matter what, she will only speak the truth. Lies are nothing but pointless words to her, and she hates speaking or hearing pointless words.
Most would think that life in the zoo had taken the animal out of the Polar Bear, but they would be wrong. She didn't go to the zoo until her mother had abandoned her, allowing her to still remember how her mother hunted. She is still strong, stealthy, and as active as she would ever be if she had not been forced into that dreaded zoo.
You could still say she is a bit of a pacifist, but that is only because she isn't one to go around killing the other pets. Being of the largest bear species has its advantages, sure, like how she could easily kill off a cat or a dog with a single swipe of her clawed paw. Vasu just hates having the burden of killing someone who didnÂft deserved to be killed. Of course, when it comes to her grumbling stomach, that is another thing.
PACK: None REASONS: She has never been too fond of the humans, but that doesn't mean she hates them. The reason why she is in neither of the three packs is because she also hates choosing sides.
LIKES:- Colder weather
- Water
- Sleeping
- Fish
DISLIKES:- Warmer weather
- Arrogant pets
- Listening to others whine
- Cages
HISTORY: Vasu wasn't always in the zoo. No, her mother actually gave birth to her in Canada. She always watched her mother hunt, scare off predators, and everything else her mother did. She pretty much stuck to her like a very strong magnet to metal. When she was entering her first birthday, her mother shoved her back into their den. Gun shots sounded from outside the den, and all Vasu was able to see was her mother falling to the snow with her white fur painted red.
She was alone for only a week before she was discovered wandering around by a few traveling zoologists. The small group easily coaxed her out of a hiding spot she had found. She was then trasported to another country and into the city. The cub was then assigned to a rather down-to-earth kind of caretaker. The lady fed her some sort of milk formula that was pretty hard to get use to at first, but she soon just ignored the taste so there was something in her stomach.
Two years passed, and she was finally moved from milk to fish and seal meat. She didn't really like what they fed her, since it was mainly just a large block of ice that she had to gnaw through in order to eat her prize, but she didn't complain. That was also when they moved her from an isolated cage to the main Polar Bear exhibit. Her new 'roommates' were pretty easy to get along with, though one of them didn't really approve of her. He never talked to her, so she nicknamed him Mister Grumpy.
When Vasu turned four, her caretaker was kicked out of the zoo and arrested. Whispers from the other zoo staff said something about the lady trying to slip some potencially lethal drugs in a large quantity into the ice block that held the food for one of the Polar Bears of her exhibit. The reason was unknown to her, but she didn't really care. The people who visited and worked at this prison of a zoo were very weird, and most of them were just plain annoying.
A few months after that event, the zoo workers filled up her exhibit with enough ice blocks of food to last them for a few years. Of course, that flooded off into the indoors part of their exhibit, where the individual cages were. They then just... Left... No more guests came to the zoo, no more workers... Some of the zoo animals which were attached to certain workers started to become restless. Vasu didn't really care much, so she kept to herself.
A little over a year passed without any sign from the humans. If they weren't going to come back, then they could have at least let them out of these prison-like exhibits! Remember Mister Grumpy? Oh, yeah, he died during this time. He was old and, well, let's just say one of the other Polar Bears became too annoyed with his ramblings. Well, that leaves us with the present day.
