No New Posts ALPINE ZONE

Alpine is located on a mountain region of the zoo. It has extremely low temperatures and very little precipitation. There is a mixture of tussock grasses and a snow-like substance covering the ground. With plenty of mountainous nook and crannies to hide in. The fences are still intact, though they have been weakened greatly due to lack of maintenance.

No New Posts BENTHIC ZONE

Benthic zone is the area below the pelagic zone, but does not include the very deepest parts of the ocean. At the bottom of the tank there is sand and slit. The temperature is very cold, since light cannot penetrate though the deeper water. salt water only, plant life consists mainly of seaweeds. The tank is still completely intact, thank goodness.

No New Posts BOREAL FOREST ZONE

Boreal forests are a bit more sparse than the other forests, but their trees tower high in the sky. There are a few small lakes, and plenty of space to roam. Temperatures are rather low, and precipitation is primarily in the form of snow. The fences have a few fallen trees on them and even a few patches have plants growing through them.

No New Posts COASTAL ZONE

Coastal zone is where the ocean meets the land - sometimes it is submerged and at other times exposed, a beach if you will. There is a mixture of both rocky and sandy coats allowing for a greater diversity. Salt water only, very few plants are able to establish themselves here. The tank is still completely intact, thank goodness. However, the sand has created a 'ramp' leading over the fences.

No New Posts DESERT ZONE - 1 Viewing

Desert is a harsh and dry zone, with very little rainfall. The land is covered with many sand dunes and some flat areas. There is only one oasis which lies in the center of this zone. Hidden somewhere in this zone are a few rocky areas with water in them, hiding under the rocks. The fences are still intact but because of the heat they are more vulnerable to damage if one were to ram into them.

No New Posts GRASSLAND ZONE

Grasslands are large, rolling terrains of grasses, flowers and herbs. There are only a few trees due to drought and fires (grasses can survive fires because they grow from the bottom instead of the top). There is a mixture of both tall grass and short grass, covering both types of grasslands. The fences are sill intact, but they will probably break if a large animal rams into them long enough.

No New Posts PELAGIC ZONE

Pelagic zone includes waters further from the land, basically the open ocean. This zone is generally cold though there is a mixture of both cold and warm currents. Salt water only, plant life consists mainly of seaweeds. The tank is still completely intact, thank goodness.

No New Posts REEF ZONE

Reefs are located in warm shallow waters. This reef has a large array of coral and different fish. For those not used to it, this reef is a beautiful sight to see. Salt water only, there is very little plant life (mostly only coral). The tank is still completely intact, thank goodness.

No New Posts SAVANNA ZONE

Savannas are large rolling grasslands scattered with shrubs and isolated trees. Not enough rain falls to support forests. There is plenty of space to support large herds but only a few watering holes. Fences have been demolished by the elephants.

No New Posts SCRUB ZONE

Scrub is located in the deserts believe it or not. The soil ranges from sandy and fin-textured to loose rock fragments, gravel or sand. The vegetation consists mainly of shrubs and short rough grasses. The fences have started to rust and fall apart.

No New Posts TEMPERATE FOREST ZONE

Temperate forests have well-defined seasons with a distinct winter. There are many trees with a moderately dense canopy. There is a decent amount of rainfall throughout the year, not too dry and not too wet. A large lake lies near the middle of the forest, with many small creeks leading to it. Most of the fence is still intact but there are a few places where trees have fallen over and crushed the fence.

No New Posts TROPICAL RAINFOREST ZONE

Tropical rainforests are lush with many diverse plant and animal life. A mountain area covered with trees, lakes, and rivers. The temperature is always warm, winter does not exists in this zone. The fences have been taken over by the plant-life, crumbling under their roots.

No New Posts TUNDRA ZONE

Tundra is the coldest of all the biomes. It is noted for its frost-molded landscapes, extremely low temperatures, and little precipitation. A snow-like substance covers the ground here, unable to melt but yet safe to consume. Most of the fence is still intact but there are few breaks which allow the animals to escape if they choose to. There is also an underwater section of the tundra, thankfully that tank is still completely intact, allowing both land and water animals to safely enjoy it.

No New Posts WETLANDS ZONE - 1 Viewing

Wetlands are areas of standing water that support aquatic plants. Marshes, swamps, and bogs are all considered wetlands; the zoo has incorporated all the different kind of wetlands in this one zone. This biome is very wet, but still has some solid ground, and very lush with plant-life. Plant-life has grown over the fences, making them hard to spot from a distance. There are a lot of breaks in the fences.

Board Description
DUDE ZOO
This used to be a high traffic area for the humans, but now it seems lifeless. Each part of the zoo has a different kind of terrain. If your an animal of adventure you'd probably like coming here. Be careful, the overgrown plants have broken some of the cages. So some of the zoo animals have managed to escape.
