Into the Wild Wild West [Open]

Thor trotted down the highway, the once busy streets now deserted. He panted, as it was quite hot on the concrete roads. Thor paused, and raised his snout to the air, trying to smell if anything or anyone was nearby, he came up with nothing. He kept going, hoping to spot the river somewhere in the future. As he walked he reflected on some of the things he regretted, and how he could have fixed them, and if they should happen again, what he should do instead. He was however, interrupted by his thirst, and began quickening his pace. Upon reaching the river, he stopped for moment before drinking, and looked at his reflection, who was he He didn't feel himself, he almost felt...lonely. He shook the dark thoughts from his mind, and drank deeply in the river, hoping to calm himself.

With the sun high in the sky the large, but frail, mutt found his way to the highway. Dazing off into the black concrete he remembered the days his master had put him in the back of the car and drove him down this very road. Frowning, he stepped off of the grass and onto the hot roads, the change in temperature was enough to burn his paw pads. Yelping he backed off of the road and back onto the grass. Sitting down he licked his paws before deciding to head towards the river, where he could soak his now blistered paws.

Finding his way over to the incline that lead to the river he quickened his pace, and threw himself into the water below. The black and tan mutt caused the water to break and splash, creating a lot of noise. The waters cooled his back, but most importantly his paws. Sighing, Hugo closed his eyes. 'What am I doing here? ...' Upon opening his eyes again he spotted another dog at the edge of the river. Instincts told him to be careful, as this was the same breed of dog that his master made him fight back when he was younger. Staring at the dog, he barked softly, announcing his own presence. "Hey there."

Thor cocked his head at the dog in front of him, deeper in the water. The water he splashed fell right in front of him, he was just glad he seemed friendly. Hey, um, what are you doing? He examined the dog, searching to find an answer somewhere, but didn't find him. Instead, he stared puzzled, at the dog.

Muscles tensed as he watched the blue and white pitbull move further into the water, splashing it before his large muscled body. The size of the dog frightened him, but Hugo put his fears aside when the other reply. Ears pricked forward, listening intently to the other, he sounded nice enough. "HAHAHA! I dont know." With a toothy grin the older male wallowed through the water; swimming in a small, tight circle. "Cooling off I suppose. Yourself?" Keeping both eyes on the other male, Hugo continued to submerge his body under the water, allowing himself to stay cool and relaxed. He still felt tense, ready to spring out of the water and run off if the other showed any signs of aggression, but he sensed that there would be no fights today.

Thor shrugged, really just goofing off, Just Cooling off my tongue, its like on fire He was rather liking having another dog around for once, because talking to yourself is no fun. He realized how much he missed his sister, missed hearing a voice around him constantly even if it was annoying

Chuckling softly at the others response he swam closer to him, testing his limits. He enjoyed limits, thus he needed to know what they were. "That sounds like a smart idea." Smiling he lapped up some of the water before offering some much needed information. "My names Hugo, its nice to meet you." To be honest, he wasn't used to talking to other dogs. Aside from his mother and the dogs he fought, he never knew another dog... It was, well interesting.

Slowly he continued to inch his way closer to the other male, curious to know more about him, after closing the gap to only four or five feet away he stopped and wagged his tail, which sent water splashing behind him.

Thor eyed Hugo almost daringly. I'm Thor He wanted to add "The one and only" but he decided against it for obvious reasons. Hugo had Thor's attention, inching closer to him, luckily he wasn't threatened by it.

Noticing the look Thor gave him, he backed up a little to give him more space; it seems he has found his limits. Nodding in response he studied the large male, curious to know if he had a master that he was waiting for too. Hugo felt the slight tension between the two, obviously both had a history which was probably the cause of their uneasiness. Feeling the need to be on more sturdy ground the black and tan male turned his side to Thor and walked onto the shore, standing in the shade that the highway provided. The entire time, his brown eyes stayed locked on the other, making sure he wasn't going to get a surprise attack. At this point he wasn't sure what to say, so instead he waited for Thor to speak.

Thor was thankful Hugo decided to back off, he'd been paranoid all day due to his burning paws. Jam-packed with rocks, this was "his" time to relax. Thor plotted down opposite sides of Hugo, and decided to try to not make enemy's. His looks scared off all the ones who tried to go near him, and his attitude isn't that great either, however he decides to change his tolerance level. Unsure of what to say, he decided to hit home run. How're you?

A small smile crept upon his features and he closed his eyes for a brief moment, almost forgetting about the large dog which stood on the opposite side. Reopening his eyes they once again rested on the untrusted brute, watching him as he sat down. The tension was still obvious, but at least the other had the courage to speak, asking Huge how he was. The black and tan mutt almost tilted his head in confusion but instead he muttered out a few simple words. "I'm fine.. you?" No, that wasn't much as far as conversations go but it was a start. Relaxing slightly, Hugo lowered himself to the ground. Never once shifting his gaze.
