The government's base is a place of extreme torture. The humans are trying to develop a living, breathing weapon that will do everything they command. Of course, they haven't created the perfect creature yet.
The rescue teams that have gone missing are actually held hostage in this very base, forced to be the humans test-subjects. It's been a year since they have been there those who have been there longer aren't known to the town.
