Alpha: this dog is like the king. Everything must be approved by them; they see over the entire pack. Their job is to make sure it continues on for the next generation.
Alpha's Mate: Like a second alpha, though this one is still a rank lower than the alpha. (also, the alpha’s mate)
Beta: The Beta would be described as a deputy. They take charge if the alpha dies, or if the alpha must be off duty for some reason. They are also like the Head Warrior.
Beta's Mate: Like the Alpha’s mate, but everything applies to the Beta.
Hunters: Dogs sent out once or twice a day to find food for the pack.
Head Guard: this dog is in charge of organizing the guards, posting them places, and getting any messages to the alpha as quickly as possible.
Guards: dogs assigned to watch the borders. Sometimes, they will go out with messengers.
Warriors: dogs whose only job is to fight for the pack.
Messengers: if the pack must communicate with outside forces, they tend to send messengers.
Pack members: regular pack members, who either cannot handle any other rank or don’t wish to.
Pups: obviously, the young of the pack.
