PERSONALITY: Big Yellow is a dog that holds onto the hope that everyone seems to have forgotten. He used to be easy going, the typical excited and friendly golden retriever. Over time and through the trials that all of the domestic animals faced, Big Yellow became somber and rational in every decision he made and every thing he did. Many dogs, Wolf and his followers especially, ridiculed him for being short sighted and a dreamer. Still, he holds strong, convinced of the fact that the humans did not abandon them. Convinced that one day, if he searched long enough, the humans would be found, and so would all of the canines that had went to rescue them.
He believes in being faithful, no matter what the personal cost. Big Yellow tries hard to be rational in everything he does. He thinks before he speaks or acts, and searches for a way to overcome a problem without need for any type of bloodshed. He detests violence and is depressed any time he is forced to fight. Still, loyalty and duty come above all else with him. A trait that all golden retrievers are known for. He will fight to protect his pack, the few dogs that believe as he does, that the humans will return one day.
He's not always so serious. When the moment arises, he takes full advantage of the good times. He loves to just run, or swim, having fun on a summer or spring day. In those rare moments when he isn't forced to be serious and calculating, when he can be the dog that he used to be, sitting and playing with the puppies that his pack has. Big Yellow understands his responsibility, to protect and defend the memories that all the dogs have. So that no one will ever forget the humans amidst all the chaos.

HISTORY: Big Yellow was the companion to a historian and his wife. He had a fun loving life, where everything was easy, relaxed, and laid back. He would go for runs outside with his owners and sit with them inside as they discussed the who, what, when, where, and why of everything that happened in the outside world. He never concerned himself with being serious, except for the occasions that his owners would sit and watch the news. He would watch the natural disasters and only be more firmly assured that he had the best life that any dog could dream of.
He woke up one morning, wagging his tail and ready to go outside and swim, when he realized something. His companions, his family, they were gone. Panic set in quickly as he frantically searched the house. They weren't there. Quickly, he realized that there were no humans to be seen anywhere. He heard the yells and cries of the other dogs. Abandoned. That hated word was repeated over and over. When he couldn't take it any longer, he growled at them all. He tried to command attention the way he had seen people on the t.v. do it. He paced back and forth, and constantly made eye contact as he gave a long winded speech.
As he fought to control his own terror, he also sought to calm the others. He was never known for being a leader. But he found that through his life, he was never overly emotional. As efficiently as he could, Big Yellow organized and helped the dogs. He sent out rescue teams, convinced they would come back bringing good news. His own son, Angel, was among the rescuers. They didn't come back. He fought against rising anger and hostility, and against the hopelessness that plagued them all. Three packs were formed, even as he sought to hold them together. A dog that had often sought his reassurance, a dog named Wolf, rebelled. A number went with him. Big Yellow was forced to fight, no only against the deadliness of winter, but also against his old pack mates. The war that ensued created another problem. Those who would not pick a side. Another pack split off. Big Yellow mourned the loss of those that had left, but pulled himself together. A team returned, telling of a wall that trapped them all in. The humans were gone. Still, loyal to the end, Big Yellow reassured everyone that the humans would not leave them, that they would come back. Only a few believed him. His pack, they would wait, and the humans would come back for them.

PACK: Yellow Warriors
NEW PACK NAME?: Not right now. My creativity is blocked XD
HOW YOU BECAME THE LEADER: The humans. They were gone. Big Yellow let out a small mournful bark. He stood, his amber fur barely moving in the scarce wind as his large eyes took in the chaos as all the other animals realized what he already had. They were alone. His ears pricked forward as more cries of the abandoned animals flooded the air. A low growl rumbled in his throat, threatening. It's suddenness brought a rapt silence in the mayhem. Big Yellow had never growled in his life. He was the easy going dog in the neighborhood, who was always romping in his yard, enjoying life to the fullest. No more. He scanned the shocked and pitiful faces of the canines that stared at him, waiting for an explanation. "They did not abandon us." His voice was low, bordering on a snarl. He would not fight them, but he needed to hold their attention.
Small whimpers broke the dead silence. "They would not abandon us." He insisted. Leveling his steady gaze on all of them, he walked forward. "Our humans will return, if we will stay strong together." Birds chirping in the trees was the only sound that met his attentive ears. "When they return, we will be alive and well, and waiting for them. Think of their disappointment and sadness if we were all gone. We are their companions and we will hold firm." He felt the number of eyes on him as he walked. The pressure that accompanied this attention was more than he could bear. He never wanted this. But he would wait. This chaos had to stop, or the humans would return and find their homes and friends in wreckage. "We will stay together and no harm will come." He stopped walking, turning his head slowly and meeting their eyes. Heads dipped in quiet acceptance.
HOW YOU'D REACT TO A CHALLENGE: Big Yellow regarded the challenger with a steady gaze. "What offense have I committed that such a challenge should be issued? Who have I wronged?" His words were spoken with clarity, and no emotion was seen on his calm features. "This pack is to stand united, against the dogs that ravage our lives, those who have forgotten our past. Slowly, he stood from his seated position. His amber fur fluttering slightly with the wind created by his movements. No other dogs made a move. The entire pack was silent, shock and curiosity on every face. Perhaps fear. "Perhaps I am not the best leader, some of you may believe. But surely a tried and true warrior is superior to the unknown?" His ears pricked forward, as if in expectation that he would receive a response.
None came. The large golden retriever sat back down. The soft grass under his paws offering little comfort in the current situation. The challenger did not appear to be swayed by his words. He glanced at the pack. Their reaction was mixed. Some would support the usurper. He bowed his head with a heavy sigh. "For the protection of this pack, I cannot allow another to take my place, should that dog prove unfit to lead. It is a risk that could endanger the lives of too many." His amber colored body grew stiff, and the fur on his neck began to raise. "For their lives, and for the lives of those we search for, I accept your challenge."
THE FUTURE OF THE PACK: The Yellow Warriors will live in the safety of their original neighborhood. Big Yellow will see that they are fed. Hunting and gathering groups will be formed, so that no dog goes hungry. Scouts and sentries will be placed so that the pack will be well protected from the unknown and from the packs that wish them harm. A guard system will be set in place for the packs protection, with an assigned guard for the pups of the pack. Big Yellow will organize everything so that everything runs smoothly, so that when the humans return everything will be in order. Periodically, assigned teams will be sent out, and report back to Big Yellow on the status of the wall, including irregularities or if nothing has changed.
