He knew by the look on her face that Maiali was trying to provoke him, and he was letting it get to him. Why was he letting get to him? Most of the time he could deflect that sort of thing.
The black shepherd dipped his head slightly in return. It was a mere acknowledgement. ”I’ll be looking forward to it,” he replied as she walked past him. He too scented her as she walked by, making sure to keep it in his registry. He turned his head to watch her disappear around the rubble. He walked away himself, feeling quite proud or even cocky that he’d gained another member. It wasn’t just any member, though, but someone special, someone very useful.</div>
